EvIK-WI – Evaluation of the Municipal Implementation of the Istanbul Convention in Wiesbaden

Description

The research project “EvIK-WI – Evaluation of the Municipal Implementation of the Istanbul Convention in Wiesbaden” investigates the implementation of the Council of Europe treaty, which is legally binding in Germany, at the municipal level. The study focuses on stakeholders in the Hessian state capital who provide protection and support who provide protection and support to women affected by intimate partner violence, which is conceptualised as a criminal phenomenon. During the project period from April 2026 to April 2028, relevant data will be collected from organisations specialising in counselling, the provision of shelter services for affected women (and their children) or perpetrator work. Drawing on a range of empirical social research methods, the local support system will be evaluated and potential areas for development will be systematically identified.
